Site Updates -or- “I love your theme!” [molestation ensues]
I’m ditching the Flash site until I can make a Flash site that’s more, um, flashy.
You may not know this about me: my web design/UI skills are still in their infancy. And when I say “infancy” I’m trying my best to convey that the infant in question may not be an actual infant, but possibly a large yam wrapped in a blanket.
So anyway, I wrote a site from scratch in XHTML and CSS, but after the initial “OMG I made it” euphoria wore off I realized
- it is terribly boring
- that yam is adorable
I added WordPress to the site just to get the blog page rolling, but now, having fiddled with it a bit (and considering my lackluster web design skills) I’m thinking I may just use it to create the whole damn thing. If this happens, I send preemptive thanks to TheBuckmaker for making a theme so attractive that I instantly considered destroying it with my own crappy ideas. Thank you, TheBuckmaker.
And I’m sorry.

New Year, New Resolve to Maybe Do Something. Probably.
I’m pretty new to this blogging thing (it seems to require that you do something with your life for it to be entertaining to others), but I need a quick and easy way to make updates and post my one-off art, so here we are.
Also, and more importantly, I need to stay motivated.
My job is great, but it doesn’t leave me with the full creative outlet I need. The solution should be simple: come home from work and draw.
Unfortunately, it’s also very easy to come home and plop down in front of the 360. I mean, someone needs to keep the zombie hordes at bay*, don’t get me wrong. I am not trying to diminish the importance of the Xbox [blows kiss to cozy, white box of glory]. But having said that, All Kill and No Draw makes Jack a…uh…well, a sociopath. That was a terrible metaphor. (Or was it?)
Anyway, in the interest of starting the New Year right, I now intend to live my art-life as though it were a Jimmy Eat World song. Or at least the stuff off Bleed American. We’ll see how that goes.
That’s the other fun part of this exercise! I might fail miserably! Yay! Failure!
*This is for your safety
