7-Star Challenge Week 12

mailer_sm

Finished the mailers. Only took 4 years! (shudder). Click for a large version.  4×6 postcard on recycled matte stock. Front color, b/w back. I know the orientation shifts, which is bad form, but at least it’s “artsy”.

Intuos4 — one month review

I’ve definitely mentioned my displeasure with certain aspects of my new drawing tablet before, but in the interest of being fair, I decided to give myself some time to get used to it before making a judgment. It’s been about 1 month (purchased July 19th) with the Intuos4 in my life.

I wasn’t even going to write this post, but I found a Wacom survey in my inbox, and just the reminder of my purchase got my ire up. Some of the following I said in the survey — I don’t know if anyone at Wacom is actually going to read it and/or take it seriously, but if this sounds familiar to you, you are probably the guy/gal at Wacom charged with reading my survey, or you’re somehow prying into my email/brain.

It is also quite possible that you are just me, in which case the following is relatively minor as far as your new problems go.

7-Star Challenge Week 11

omgeye_sm
“Actually, she’s looking at both of us. Somehow.”

This is kinda like building a chair and only after sitting on it realizing that the plans came from an M.C Escher book. I drew half of her face pointing one way, and half of it facing another, and I didn’t catch it until I had started rendering.

I may correct it later this week, but I’m not holding my breath. I’m just happy I made the deadline. Another busy week.

I wrote “another busty week” on my first pass, but frankly, this week has not been any more busty than usual. Unfortunately.

Quickie 8-20

quickie82009

Just a quick one in between projects. Still need to start (and finish) my 7-Star entry, too! Gah. Not sure if this will make it into the gallery — I think it’s too small to fit in my thumbnails.

Maybe I’ll do a full page of these little avatars.

I am smiling

I drew new GIFs of the 8bitartist Highwayman © for my “mood” PHP. You can now tell if I am angry or complacent at a glance. There is a small chance, however, that I just have a really itchy face.

Oh wait.

Covered.

If I develop more moods in real life, I’ll make some icons for those, too.
